Thanks to the Maxfields

We have been blessed with Mark and Lynne Maxfield as our first senior missionaries assigned to us.  They have literally transformed the Peru Arequipa Mission and we will always see them as our Saviors.  Not only did they organize our mission office but they also created a culture of beautiful music with Hermana Maxfield’s amazing talents.  Elder Maxwell has taught us how he has perfected sharing the gospel in “normal and natural ways” to the point where we can’t keep up with his referrals! They will both leave a huge hole when they return home this month, but their memories will always keep us smiling with deep gratitude!  The following are some thoughts shared by Hermana Maxfield about her time with us:

Mission life is the greatest. Yes, you miss your children and grandchildren, but then the people and the missionaries you meet in the mission field become your family. You miss your neighborhood, but then your new neighbors become your lifelong, dearest friends. You miss your Home, but then you realize that your ‘Home’ can be anywhere; a mansion, an apartment, a local hostel or a small shack. A multitude of blessings are received as you serve missionaries, new neighbors, new friends and new family, and as you serve, your Love grows to include everyone you meet. Mission life is the Greatest! You see Miracles, and rich blessings showered upon your children. Your love for your Heavenly Father and for the Gospel of Jesus Christ increases. Your knowledge of the scriptures expands.  Hope in the Atonement is strengthened. The Lord needs more Senior couples serving in missions around the world. He wants to bless them. Elder Maxfield and I have loved our time in the Peru, Arequipa Mission. It has been a marvelous experience. We have experienced rich blessings and witnessed miracles. Peru, Arequipa was where we needed to be at this time in our lives. Mission life is the GREATEST!
