Camana
Camana is a coastal town located about 3-4 hours away from Arequipa. We have 7 missionaries serving here and the church has a district made up of branches. It takes about 3-4 hours by car to get there from Arequipa. It was founded by the Spanish in 1539.

Travel information: We have tried two different Hotels. The Hotel Camana & Suites is in the top two pictures below. It wasn’t great and offered no breakfast, no running water in the morning, and a very difficult parking lot to manage. The second is Hotel de Turistas. It is older, but offers breakfast and has more “charm?” It is pictured in the second set of pictures below.
We like a restaurant called Mercado 137 where the President swears that they have the best Lomo saltado in all of Peru. Here we are pictured with the Camana District President and his wife as well as our first two Assistants to the President. My how time flies!
